My husband and I decided to spend a few days in Belgium before embarking on a River Cruise of The Netherlands. I particularly wanted a guide to get us oriented to Bruges. The Rick Steves Guide Book lists Patrick Verleye under Local Guides. We communicated by text and email. Patrick arranged a custom orientation walk with historical information and food tour for us. He met us at our hotel and escorted us around the city. His commentary on important sites was very interesting, and I loved hearing the history he inclluded about various buildings and streets. Our tour included stops for delicious treats (waffles, chocolate, beer). Patrick was fun to talk with (it turns out we have a lot in common -- even living half a world apart) and was more than generous with his time. I sincerely hope that we have a chance to meet up with Patrick again at some point in the future. Once again, a Rick Steves recommendation was a winner!
