Black Friday Sales on Tours- Italy

We are going back to Italy in 2019 (yeah!) and heard that there are often black Friday sales. Can anyone advise which companies partake in such sales? Thanks.

heard that there are often black Friday sales

I suspect this is in the same category as Easter Bunny, Sasquatch/Yeti, the Stork, Leprechauns, Unicorns, etc..... ( but if I am wrong please share!)

Thanks for your response… Actually I saw that there were black Friday deals last year just wanted to know somebody heard about it for this year yet.

kath, for what it's worth...I remember that post too. I was surprised as it didn't occur to me that they would be on sale!

I've heard that some airlines have sales that weekend. I'm hoping, anyway.

My experience of Black Friday sales (it's a relevant recent thing here, don't know why because we don't even celebrate Thanksgiving) is that the bargains are often not all that they seem. Quite often a handful of items have good discounts in order to tempt the buyer but the majority of sales items have inflated 'original' prices meaning that you're often paying around the same price before the 'sale'.

Is it a Black Friday or Cyber Monday event?

The last two years during which I was monitoring airfares, it was Delta that had great fare sales for a few days before and after Thanksgiving Day. I think you could fly from just about anywhere in the middle of the US to any of the major European destinations for around $500 R/T. That was less than half the non-sale fare at the time. If you're in the market, its worth taking a look and at least follow the Delta site for the next couple of days.

Even in that date range, the cheapest Delta flight from Tulsa to Paris is $1900, RT. Each. And we need to leave from here earlier than that to meet our RS HOF tour.

Bummer. I'll keep looking. But for that price I'll probably choose British Air. We have loyalty status that gives us lounge access - great when there's a delay - and priority boarding.

As Pam references, last year I took advantage last year of Black Friday sales at Walks of Italy. I don’t know if they will repeat the sale - check on Friday !

Jane, I'd keep watching the Delta fares.

I did notice that one of the "sale" fares was Salt Lake City to Edinburgh which is a new route. Wish that had been in place last June instead of having to go thru JFK!

The Black Friday sales are posted online, and I didn't see any earth shattering discounts on the big American legacy air carriers.
I still see the best buys in transportation to Europe to be out of anywhere Norwegian Air Shuttle goes into. And as they obtain more and more new Boeing 787's, they're branching out into Middle America if just one or two flights per week from some cities.

@Pam- be warned. As much as I prefer to fly through Atlanta, we have found that Delta usually has more options(both pricewise and for upgrades) out of JFK.

Cala...I avoid Atlanta as well!! I will pay more for flights non-stop from my closest Delta hub of SLC. I don’t mind a transit thru Minneapolis though.

I just got an ad for a Black Friday sale on a 7 day tour to Italy. Didn't seem like much of a deal.

I'm hoping for deals for Viator or Walks of Italy or any reputable day tour company.

I just posted on another thread that Livitaly has 25% discounts on their tours for Black Friday, but thought I'd post it here, too. You have to sign up for their e-newsletter to get the code. Hope this is helpful!

Hi - I took a food tour with them a couple of years ago and enjoyed it.

Thanks. I'm checking them out. Hope more tour deals come out for black friday. Viator has 15% off for Black Friday.

Black Friday (or Black Week in Germany) is now a big thing throughout Europe. Here in Austria, everyone is shopping today and pretty much every shop is offering a 20% savings on everything.

Walks of Italy 30% off thru the 30th. Last year I booked 2 tours at the discount price. Enjoyed them both ( and the one I booked earlier on the year at full price )
