I recommend the Welcome Bologna tourist information center walking tour in Bologna. Personally, I prefer to pay a small fee upfront for a professionally led by a local walking tour rather than the work for tips "free" guides. In Parma, if you are interested in art, I found the Basilica and Baptistry outstanding.
