Avignon day trip

In 2007 I took a day trip tour out of Avignon to many places around Provence that lasted about 9 hours for $50. It was arranged the day before in the town square (in June).

I would like to repeat such a tour in June this year. The cheapest comparable trip I can find online is about $140. Can I get such a tour the day before in the town square for a lower price? Or should I make reservations for $140?

That rate sounds about right I did one from there 2 years ago that lasted 4 hours for about $60;
and I would wait til you get there at the Tourist Information Center to book it instead of in advance

I have always found the Avignon tourisme office helpful, both in person and on-line (including e-mail). Its site presents lots of tours, with prices, so you can shop and compare. I assume this is the operation you describe as being in "the town square". The office is at 41, cours Jean Jaures, about five blocks from Place de la horlogue, usually regarded as the centre of the old city.
