Amsterdam -Small group tours- “That Dam Guide”

We were in Amsterdam for 5 days and took advantage of a small tour operator (Local Dutch owner) that fits in nicely with the RS way of doing things. Great quality and fun active walking tours or day trips out of town. Website is: https://thatdamguide.com

We took a day trip to see windmills, a dairy and tulip farm along with a cheese and strawberry picnic with awesome Dutch cheeses and fruit. Saw several small villages and walked around and learned the history. We also took his small group Red Light District tour as well and learned the history of the area, the pros and cons, the impacts on the city and much more. Mark the owner has quite a few other interesting tours in town as well. Definitely worth a look. We have been on a lot of small tours around the world and this company ranks right at the top for us.

I would recommend Mark’s tours also. His was definitely not a dry history tour. A small group, an interesting walk through quiet historic streets, a visit to a fun design store, and lots of info about current social issues in the Netherlands. He knew we had Van Gogh tickets after his tour and thoughtfully ended our walk at the easiest place for us to catch the tram to the museum. He’s friendly and engaging. We enjoyed his tour a lot!
