I spend a great deal of time in the Czech republic and will be spending more time there once I retire in a couple of years.
5million Czech crowns is not a lot of money if you are intending to live off that amount, buying a house or even just renting one .Ok if you are not living in Prague.
First thing you have to find out is if both you are your girlfriend actually qualify to live and work in the Czech Republic, you cannot just turn up and expect to be able to stay there indefinitely.
wages are certainly not the highest but cost of living is not the highest either.

We spent 5 weeks in a small village just outside of Prague on a home exchange a couple of years ago. So we "lived" there but didn't have to do business, work, or deal with govt bureaucracy. I'm sure navigating some of those things are more difficult so I'll let someone else who has lived there long-term comment on that.
One of the things we loved was that things are so incredibly CHEAP. Grocery shopping was shockingly so - we could fill the cart with very good quality food and other household items for well under $50. Bread/rolls ranged from 5 cents to 50 cents, vegetables and fruit were just pennies. Grocery stores are very nice and quite large. "Albert" was the chain we shopped at most. Eating out was equally cheap...the three of us could eat in the best restaurant in the village for about $12...wine, dessert, the works. As far as infrastructure, things worked fairly well in the village where we stayed. The house we stayed in had great internet, regular trash collection via the dumpster at the end of the street (common in Europe), and electricity was reliable even during several massive thunderstorms. The house itself was very modern with everything we have in our own home + a lot more.
We had trouble with the car we were using and the mechanics came to the house, took the car, fixed the problem, and brought it back. Can't even get service like that here in L.A. where I live!
5 million koruna is only about $200,000 US...is that your budget to buy a place? If you are living outside of Prague it should be fine. To get a place IN Prague you'll need more than that. Have you narrowed down where you want to live? Do you have a job? You can't just pick up and move - you have to go through the appropriate visa process.

Yes, 5 million crowns is considered a lot of money. But in Prague you would not buy much of living space. But let's say in Brno (the second largest city) you can buy modest apartment for 2 to 3 million crowns. I should know something about living there. I lived there about half of my life and go there once to twice a year. If you have some pointed concrete questions, I am ready. I have few questions too in addition to those already asked by my predecessors. What made you to think about moving to C.R? Job? Do you want to live in Prague? Or somewhere else? Do you know at least a little bit of language? The more we know about your plans and wishes the more pointed and useful our advice could be.

I am trying to work out if you are for real. You Girlfriend may have dual nationality but that does not mean you can just stay with her..
Communism....... where have you been for the last 30 years, well I reckon for most of them you were not born, I do think you are just having some sort of dream, 5 million Kc is not considered rich by any means, you cars would cost a great deal to ship but yes bring them along your 5 million crowns will take a dent and another one when you try to find places to keep them and yes there are strict emission tests, look up EU emmison test,oh Czech republic just happens to be part of the EU.AC power is 220 v and very different for yhe US so none of your electrics will work without adaptors but again your 5 million crowns will take another dent,
bring your dog the Czech s love dogs but make sure it has a Pet Passport.
Most common crime is probably cyber crime but theft from cars is quite common, assault and gun crime is nothing compared to the US.
sorry got to stop there as I need to head to work

Robert, you are so over your head that I don't even know where to begin. For one thing, the Czech Republic is not communist. For another, you can't just go there to live without a long-term visa; you ESPECIALLY can't work there without one. Yes, you will need to work...which could be a big challenge right there if you do not speak the language.

You have a significant amount of research to do, and this forum isn't the place to start as it's largely for people going for short-term holidays. THIS is where you should start:

https://www.internations.org/czech-republic-expats/americans

http://www.expatarrivals.com/czech-republic/pros-and-cons-of-moving-to-czech-republic

There are probably other sites for American expats - or potential expats - in the C.R. out there so google them and READ; read a lot. Relocation abroad is a complex, time-consuming undertaking.

Vastly undereducated and misinformed but not necessarily a troll. It's the sort of post that rarely occurs on R.S. but that I've seen more frequently on some other travel sites.

All I'm going to add here, since the previous multi-question post seems a bit over-the-top, is that your very first step would be to research the types of visa you would need to move to the CR. You can only stay for 90 days with just your passport. Once you find this out, then you can get into the details. Here is a link to a website that might be helpful to you. I would also consider taking an exploratory trip there to see if it's a place you could realistically live.
