walking and exploring early morning.

Hi everyone! I'm going to Europe for the first time this coming June to July and my first city that I'm going to visit is Prague. I just want to ask if I can walk and explore in early morning the city, especially the Charles bridges? I'm thinking walking the city at 7 in the morning. Because I think that is the best to explore the city.
Thank you

I think the OP was just enquiring if it was safe to explore the city in the early hours. I haven’t’ been to Prague, but perhaps someone who has could address his question.

Have a wonderful time and welcome to the forum!

Early morning is the best time to get great pictures of the bridge and city without the crowds. I was out earlier than 7 a.m. and as a solo traveler I felt completely safe. Depending on the day of week you'll mostly encounter shopkeepers and delivery people getting ready for the day.

Yes! Early morning is a wonderful time to be out and about. Although there were two of us walking to the Charles Bridge and other locations in Prague, I would have felt comfortable walking on my own. It’s really the best time to be out…as the city wakes up with locals hurrying to work and deliveries are being made to to shops and restaurants;

Definitely a good idea. I would for sure visit the Charles bridge and the surrounding area at that time as its the busiest area, and then less crowded areas as the day goes along.

What time will the sun come up when you’ll be there? That will be the best time to explore, especially the bridge and you won’t be the only one with the same idea.

Oh I think it's a lovely idea! To see the city in the early hours would be quite fascinating.

We go out early too. It’s fun watching a city wake up, isn’t it? A whole different vibe and connection. I look forward to reading responses here as we will be in Prague later this year and would like to see what other morning people have done in Prague.

I was in Prague as a solo senior woman traveler and yes, I was out before 7 am to explore the city without the hordes of tourists. Early morning light is wonderful for taking photos and I love to get out early and watch the city coming alive, when the locals are getting to work, the dog walkers are out, the street cleaners are out, and the shopkeepers are hosing down and sweeping the sidewalks in front of their shops. The Charles Bridge and the main square in old town are wonderful to photograph early in the morning.

If you do early morning then start at the scenic spot adjacent to the Prague Castle Main entry and you'll get the sunrise over the Old Town in the distance. Then quickly walk down the steps and across to the middle of Charles Bridge and you'll get a second sunrise as it breaks over the ST Salvator church. Then go to the Old Town Square and you can get the sun breaking over the Church of Our Lady Before Tyn and great lighting of the Old Town Hall. Then if you're done, go and get an early breakfast at Bakeshop (opens at 7).

Enryu: Lucky you! Jason (Awesome tour guide) in Prague gave you a wonderful tip for your early morning city walk.
Jason, We were on one of your Prague tours back in 2018. Loved your tour; loved Prague!
I hope tours for you are picking up.

Cheers Carol, yes 2022 is turning out better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.
If the question was safety related then Prague is a physically safe city. Just don't leave your wallet/purse/bag unattended and you won't have any pickpocket issues. Plus I suspect that the criminal element will still be in bed this early in the morning.

Absolutely! I do this too and will be doing it for my 3rd visit come June. I also stay out late some evenings to get night photos, which Prague is fabulous for.
