Visiting Prague - question about the Castle tours- have Ricks book

Hi
will be visiting Prague and will see the castle- I am contemplating on whether to hire a tour guide or do solo
Rick has some recommendations in his book- has anyone used V Storek? from Storek Guide?

also, I noticed that the official website for the castle states they have their own offical tours that you can sign up while at the Castle. Price is reasonable 100 Czk per hour (English) with min of 400

I havenet seen any reviews of these tours- i have only seen reviews of Naked Tours etc.
thanks

We went on one the official castle tours and it was very good. We did it on the spot. It was a small group of less than 10 of us.

It was several hours and I don’t remember the cost but not that much. We saw the castle and the church and a few other things. We wandered around in our own afterwards. It definitely helped us appreciate what we were seeing.

We're booked for the official tour this coming September.

Its 100 CZK on top of whichever castle circuit ticket you purchase for a 60 minute, narrated tour in the language you choose.

CHSK, several years ago I remember taking quite a remarkable “city tour” in Prague. I made the reservation at one of the tour kiosks around the old town, sorry I can’t remeber the company. Our guide was a young economics student from Bratislsva, very bright, informed, personable, excellent English. We met by the big clock at the Town Hall square, then we went by bus up to the Prague Castle for a tour there, then walked down through the old city to a “medieval restaurant” where we had a fine lunch, included in the tour cost.. Then across the Charles Bridge to an hour-long boat tour along the river, and finally back to the Town Hall area and the Jewish quarter and cemetery. I remember that the tour took about 6 hours and I was very impressed with the guide and everything that was covered for the cost involved.

Remember that the official "standard" castle tour is 60 minutes but only visits ST Vitus and the Old Royal Palace. Because you are with a licenced castle guide you skip the line if there is any. You can book it in advance but only for weekday tours. On weekends just turn up at 9am and you'll have your choice of tour time. I think Herfnerd already did this but follow the advice at https://livingprague.com/prague-attractions/prague-castle-tours/ and that will explain options. There's also the audioguide option if you prefer to self-guide but keep that under 3 hours or hire it for the day.

I did book the "official" tour a while ago based on a conversation I had with Jason - we plan on purchasing the Circuit B ticket and mostly plan on doing a self tour but thought it would be nice to have someone narrate some of it. That and the ability to jump any queues while on the tour, lol
