Where exactly does Uber pick up near Prague train station?
They will tell you the pickup point when you make the reservation.
However, may I suggest you look into Bolt. They are more popular in central Europe than Uber.
I usually compare the two and choose the one that has the closest cars and possibly cheaper. I've used Bolt many times in many countries without an issue.
Be very careful! The signs at the train station are basically non-existent. We took a Bolt from the station last Wednesday. The directions on the Bolt app told us to go out on the Wilsonova street side. We got there, but there weren't any signs. There was, however, a gaggle of police officers. So I asked them if the street was Wilsonova and they looked at me like I was crazy. They actually laughed at me. One of them finally said, yeah, yeah, Wilsonova. Then the Bolt pulled up. The driver put our bags in the back and as we were getting in, the same police guy who laughed at me walked up. Long story short: we were in some kind of loading zone, the cop gave the driver a ticket and then just stood there until the driver gave him 250 euros in cash. Welcome to our first time in Prague. Every other experience we had in the city was fantastic. We fell in love with the place. But our first few minutes were awful. I wish I could give you advice on how to avoid anything like it. I think I'd try public transportation next time — it's really easy, convenient, cheap, clean, and comfortable in Prague. We had great experiences with Bolt in the city, too. But I'd love to hear from someone who knows Prague how to deal with the train station!
Yikes! I was planning to go through the park, across Opletalova Street to in front of the Exe City Park Hotel and order a Bolt from there - think that would work? We could almost walk to our hotel except it would probably mean dragging suitcases across a lot of cobblestones.
I'm in Prague now and head to the station tomorrow. I'll walk as it's only a few blocks.
The sidewalks near the train station are not cobblestones. They are smooth pavement as are many of the roadways.
I think walking across to the front of a hotel is a great idea. We really didn't have any other trouble with Bolt in Prague — or Budapest or Vienna for that matter. The wait times were all seriously short and the prices were pretty fair. And the drivers all seemed friendly.
Yes, like you say, Opletalova is completely fine. So if you get an Uber or Bolt from there, there are not going to be any issues with the police. In front of the Exe City Park Hotel is exactly where cars come or drop off, just around that zebra crossing. I've done it several times. Enjoy Prague!

In Budapest Uber and Bolt exist as a dispatcher service for independent licensed taxis and drivers. You pay based on the meter. The rate is set by the City and is the same for all taxis in the city. The cars are all yellow, have taxi lights on top and are inspected for compliance, including age. There are more Uber than Bolt, but my preference is called City Taxi. You can download their app which works like Uber or Bolts app. But any company will get the job done.
