Two full days and three nights in Prague following a River cruise.

My wife and I, along with another couple are extending our Viking river cruise, by taking a bus from Passau, Germany to Prague. We are planning on arrive in Prague around noon. We are in our early 70's and active.

We are not sure what we sill do the first day and night we arrive.

Second day we would like to book a Prague city tour during the day and maybe see an opera that evening.

Third day we would like to take a day trip, possibly to the Bohemian Switzerland National Park.

Fourth day we will take the train to Ljubljana, then a bus to Lake Bled for two days.

Any suggestions, critics would be appreciated.

Thanks

I believe it will take you at least 10 hours to get from Prague to Ljubljana by train. For me that would be way too much time to spend to have two days anywhere. And Lake Bled, while very pretty, is truly tiny; you can walk all the way around it in 2 or 3 hours. There's more of interest in Ljubljana, of course. An additional potential complication is your return home from Ljubljana. A lot of folks find that Slovenia's transportation connections not great.

I'd pick a place much closer than Prague for the last two days. There are many lovely, smaller cities in Czechia you could visit, for one example.

I tired to find you a way there. You will be doing good to get there in 11 hours unless you found a train not on the Czech rail site (and that i possible for a number of reasons). No direct flights to either Zagreb or Ljub and DayTrip.com wants nearly $600. You might come across another Slovenia thread where I say even though I live in Budapest I have never been to Slovenia because its just to hard to get to.

If we were to break up the trip by train from Prague to Ljubljana, which cities between Prague and Ljubljana would you recommend?

Look at the trains. They all make 2 or 3 changes. See if one of tge change locations looks interesting.

Or, there are non-stop flights from Prague to Split and Venice.

I looked. Graz maybe. Graz would be a lovely stop,. Then direct in a few hours to Ljub.

Of your cruise starts in Budapest (just a guess) Budapest is a tiny bit easier to reach Bled from so think about Bled before the cruise.
