Is it safe for a female traveling alone to go to Prague?
I'm not a female but I know the feeling of not feeling safe. During the pandemic I traveled to Philadelphia and NYC and in both I didn't feel safe alone in the dark. Last October I traveled alone in Prague for 8 days and never felt unsafe.
I spent three nights in Prague solo and never felt unsafe. Keep valuables out of sight and stay out of congested areas where crowds congregate.
You can see the data set is very limited, but its no worse than getting 640 responses on this forum.
We have just returned from Prague and I expected to feel a little uneasy about being out after dark, even though I was with my husband. I am glad to report that I never felt uneasy once there. It is a lively city with people--LOTS OF PEOPLE--young and old, alone and in groups, male and female, families, tourists, and locals. Of course, one uses common sense whether at home or abroad. (don't flash money or jewelry or walk in dark, deserted areas late at night or ones known by locals to be ones THEY would avoid (ask your hosts or hotel clerks).
