Travel from Prague to Cesky Krumlov

Best method of travel--Flixbus or Train. Would appreciate input from anyone that has taken either. Was planning to take bus just read that train might be a better option. Staying At Castle View Apartment which is .37 miles away from center--a 10 minute walk to apartment. Thanks in advance from anyone who has traveled this route.

We used czshuttle.com for a private transfer as we were 4 adults. But we did stay at the castle view apartments. The location is perfect and the room we had, 2 bedroom on the first floor, was lovely.

To optimize your time, the fastest train is a daily direct intercity train leaving from Prague hl.n (Prague’s main train station) at 9:21am arriving in Cesky Krumlov at 11:52am. That’s as fast as any bus and you don’t have to sort out which bus station it is that FlixBus is departing from— there are 3-4 of them in Prague that FlixBus uses. From the train station, it’s a 10-20 minute downhill walk to the castle in Cesky Krumlov’s center.
There are afternoon trains returning to Prague departing at 1pm and roughly every 2 hours thereafter at 3pm, 5pm, and 7pm.

I agree with Barbara and Andrea- we used the CK Shuttle and the door- door service was a nice break. The drivers were very courteous and had excellent English- they were an added bonus.
We also stayed at Castle View Apartments and I would love to stay there again.
Have a great trip!

We also used CK Shuttle and enjoyed both the door to door service and the time spent chatting with the drivers and other passengers in the van. It was a nice change from taking the train and very efficient.

We've just returned and did this in Reverse, Cesky Krumlov to Prague. We've taken the bus before but his time used CK Shuttle. They were excellent. Clean, professional, and they do not cancel even if they don't have a full van. We were the only two passengers in our van. They provided water bottles and rest breaks. It was well worth it. (We too stayed at Castleview and though the shuttle could not drive into town it was a short walk down Horni Street)
