I keep seeing comments about taxis not being safe or getting “ripped off” by them. What’s the best way to get from airport to hotel in Prague? Should we book a car service? Going May 2026.
Thanks…. Deb

We use Bolt. Like Uber but cheaper and more reliable. You know the cost before you ride.
I have the app on my phone.
Here is a link to livingprague.com re airport transfers - the website is invaluable for planning a visit, and Jason's walking tours are excellent:

Depending on where you are staying, it's easy to get to the centre of Prague on public transport. There's a bus from the airport (59) that takes you to the metro (Nadrazi Veleslavin) and from there you can get into town. The bus ride is only about 15 minutes. If you're going to the centre of the old town, from Nadrazi Veleslavin station the metro ride is only 10 minutes. Unless you have a lot of luggage with you, it's very easy and convenient.
`I can also recommend Prague Transport. My driver spoke English so well that I thought he was British. (He was from Prague.) He also knew his way around. We hit traffic and he cut through side streets to go around the traffic and get me to my hotel. It's a flat fee that you know and pay ahead of time online in either Czech Koruna, Euros or US dollars.
I can also recommend Jason at Living Prague tours. I took his regular tour and it was excellent. He really does limit the size of his groups.
We used www.praguetransport.com also, very friendly and it was a relief to see them after our flight landed three hours late! I think you can pay by card in advance or cash at the end of the trip. Have a great trip!
