Train or Bus from Passau or Nuremberg to Prague

We are planning a Danube River Cruise in May or June and need to get from either Passau or Nuremberg to Prague. Ideas for rail or bus or taxi and how long it would take? Or we could start in Prague and go to Passau or Nuremberg to embark on the river cruise at the start of our journey.
The cruise goes Passau or Nuremberg to Budapest ...depending on which company we go with. They have add on of 3 days in Prague with transfers but are twice the price of the hotel.

There are all-rail direct or one-change (Schwandorf) connections from Nürnberg to Prague in about 5 hours. There are also a number of Bahn, Intercity buses daily from in front of the Nürnberg Hauptbahnhof to the bus station adjacent to the main train station in Prague in just over 3½ hours. You can find these connections on the German Rail schedule webpage. The bus is faster and is a modern over-the-road coach with reserved seats, toilet, Wifi, electrical outlets, snack/drink bar, and an attendant.

You can also get from Passau to Prague by train, but I'm not familiar with any direct buses.

Nuremberg has a better connection to Prague by Deutsche Bahn bus. Double decker with bathroom and snack and beverage service. Little over three hours direct, non-stop. From Passau it takes over 5 hours with one change in Regensburg.
