My husband and I are planning to go from Nuremberg to Prague first week in December this year. I’m looking for personal experiences. Which do you recommend? Thanks!
No personal experience but the bus is faster and cheaper.
My two friends and I took the bus from Nuremberg to Prague in September, 2019. While I prefer trains generally, if I remember correctly, we took the bus because the schedule was much better than going on the train. The bus worked out well, was comfortable and not overcrowded.
Flixbus all the way on this one. Nuremberg (Willy-Brandt) to Prague is 3.5 hours and it terminates at UAN Florenc where you connect to metro or tram. Average price per person will be about EUR40 but you can get it cheaper the earlier you book.
We took Flixbus on Sunday and had a comfortable, affordable ride. We reserved 2 front seats on top row so had great visibility. Do check on locations of bus stations in both Nuremberg & Prague; that took us a few to figure out. Also, in middle of April it was snowing quite heavily at higher elevation so booking for Dec, that may be something to keep in mind.
Hi, My husband and I took the Flix bus (the route you mention) in 2019 and absolutely hated it. First, on a bus the views are far less nice than on a train; second, the ride did not feel safe to us, partly because the driver had a friend along who talked to him the whole time; third, although there is a bathroom you don't feel safe getting up and walking in a bus, whereas in a train it is fine. I would take a train even if it requires changing a couple of times.
