Train from Prague to Vienna and Vienna to Salzburg

Need help booking train for 2 persons traveling from Prague to Vienna on Sunday Sept 18. One way tickets
What is the best website to book my tickets?
What's the difference between 1st & 2nd class? I definitely want to book a seat.
What station would I arrive in Vienna?

Later in the week I need to book a RT ticket from Vienna to Salzburg.
Which website would I use to book that ticket?

Thanks

Buy your tickets from www.oebb.at and you will see which stations you can arrive at in Vienna. But the direct trains use Wien Hbf.

1st class will give you a bit more space and sometimes come with other benefits as well, but 2nd class is perfectly fine. It's not like flying where economy seats are miserable.

You can also check taking a bus on FlixBus. I found it more convenient and less expensive in many cases. They are very comfortable seats and have WiFi onboard.

Pre-purchase the Prague to Vienna tix on the Czech National Train website, www.cd.cz for the biggest discounts on the Prague to Vienna route.( some as low as $19!) This also applies to other international routes originating in the Czech Republic. No other website has rates this low for Czech trains. Senior discounts apply.
You can check schedules and fares on easy-to-use www.TheTrainline.com before buying the tix. Other sites may offer slightly lower prices for Austrian trains.

Avoid Flixbus, the seats are nowhere near as comfortable as they are on the train.

Buying the Prague-Wien from ČD also works, but you can get cheap tickets on the route from ÖBB as well. Booking in advance, you can get a ticket from ÖBB for as low as €14.90. Avoid Trainline and other resellers.

For tickets from Vienna to Salzburg and returning, one of the best deals on a bullet train in September is a Railjet train which has tix for about $20 each way.
