Hello. Has anyone taken the train from Prague to Bratislava using regional trains, bought at the station beforehand? If so what was the price vs. pre booked. Thanks!
Prices that I researched recently on the Czech and Slovakian railway web sites added up to less than $20 for purchase locally. At these prices, and similar to your previous question, I see no reason to pre-book.
The main advantage of pre-booking is that you can book a seat. I once took a train from Bratislava to Prague without pre-booking and I ended up having to give up my seat in Brno (to someone how had booked it) and standing all the way to Prague. Two hours of standing the in corridor of a crowded train is not to be desired.
Marcus, you were lucky that it did not happen already in Bratislava.
