Tipping for various services

Hello -- could someone let me know when it is appropriate to tip in the Czech Republic, and approximately how much?
1. We will be taking a shared CK Shuttle from Vienna to Cesky Krumlov. Shared service but door to door pick up and drop off. Do we tip? If so, per person or per family (we are a family of 3)?
2. We have both a shared small group tour and a private tour scheduled. What is the norm for tipping for these?
3. We are staying at a small B&B. Is it customary to leave a gratuity for housekeeping or any other such gratuity?
Thank you!

Forget tipping in Europe. You're paying for a service, there is no need to pay any extra.

I agree with the above.
also in pubs and restaurants please don't tip at American levels, rounding up to the nearest 10 kc or so is fine or max of about 10% tip BUT only if you get decent service

How stupid to think because your in Europe you don't tip.

How ignorant to think that you can ride roughshod over cultural practices simply because it doesn't fit in with what you do at home!

please don't tip like you do in the US, the servers will start to expect everyone should tip like that.people get paid wages that are way above what American servers get and do not rely on 15-20% tips to make up their wages, a small tip is always appreciated but if everyone tipped as in America then they will start expecting me to do so and that ain't going to happen.
and please don't leave tips on the table or bar.......................... just don't.

For a purchase I use "round up". Sometimes that means a smaller tip, sometimes a bigger tip i.e. bill comes to 360, I pay 380, bill comes to 480, I pay 500. Most important is that in a restaurant/bar that you don't leave money on the table. Either tell the waiter how much to keep or when you get your change give what you want straight back using the "round up" method. I tip better in places that I visit regularly. Always tip a guide if you think that they have "exceeded" your expectation whether private or small group.

In the Czech Republic - you tip if you liked the services. The waiters or people in the restaurants wirk for quite low salary, the tip is something they could get and they are motivated to do things better. In that case no one is allowed to push you to give the tip. If everything is OK, you give 10-15% of the amount you pay. (You pay 550, you give 600-630). If you did not like it, you give them 0,00. You can also give the tip to the guides or drivers. But generally tips are not included and it is just up to you:).
