Strahov Monastery/Brewery vs Brevnov Monastary/Brewery

Looking for input on which place you liked more. I'm curious to hear about their beer, food and atmosphere. Thanks

My wife and I visited the Strahov Monastery Brewery in Sept. 2012. Wonderful food, location and atmosphere. It is very popular with the local people, both young and old. We enjoyed it so much that we returned the next night. We tried the beef goulash, pork schnitzel, smazeny syr (fried cheese) and the pork knuckle. For dessert we had pancakes and fruit dumpling. All these were excellent. They also serve as an appetizer a mixed sausage platter with something similar to BBQ sauce. I had this both nights. This is a very friendly place as you are treated like a local. I can't speak for the beer as I don't drink it, but the young people we dined with agreed that the brewery had the best beer in Prague.

I agree with other posters. Beer at Strahov was great. I had a beef dish with 5 very heavy dumplings. Tasty but not carb friendly.

Great views of Prague from near Monastery, both during the day and at night.
