Adding my recommendations. We first saw the Mucha Museum in Prague, which has an informative film and followed up with a visit to the Slav Epic (before it went on its recent multi-year tour.)

Good news! Now all I need to do is get back to the Czech Republic! (Pre-Covid I would have been seeing this next month……)

If you are hiring a car to go to Moravsky Krumlov then also consider driving to Zbiroh Castle (exit41 on D5 between Prague an Plzen) because that's where the Slav Epic was painted. The Castle pub has a photo exhibit from the time Alfons Mucha lived there and the 50 minute "Zamek" tour includes a visit to the hall where the Slav Epic was painted. Unfortunately the tour is in Czech. During the winter season there's a quick 15 minute tour just of the hall.

Hello from Wisconsin,
I don't know what the venue consists of. I saw half of the epic in Brno in an industrial display building. It had at least 10 meter high ceiling. It was great. These paintings are huge. They really need an airplane hanger. The other half was in the civic building in Prague. A beautiful art nouveau building but a bit cramped for the paintings. Nonetheless, these paintings are worth what ever it takes to go see. A great nationalist view fo Slavic history.

Be awed.
