We will have 2.5 days in Prague prior to the beginning of our June 11th RS tour of Eastern Europe. We want to spend it sightseeing, but do not want to duplicate anything we will see on the tour. We're in our 60s and very active. We appreciate any ideas!
Among others you will have time to see Vysehrad. The best idea would be to get Rick Steves book Prague & the Czech Republic. You will know what you are going to see with your tour and you can choose additional sights from the book.
Thank you. Can you tell me what we see on the walking tour the first day, so we don't duplicate? (What we see on the 2nd day is specifically listed in the itinerary.) Many thanks!
from what I can see of the Interary the Jewish quarter is not covered that may be because of the days the tour is in the city,so if it is not covered I would suggest that.Vysehrad has been mentioned and I would second that and I would also suggest a trip to Letna park which gives stunnibg views over the city.
The Vinohrady district of Prague is quite interesting and you could try finding this place.

a restaurant in the middle of a vineyard, about a 10 minute walk from Namesti Miru metro but worth the trip, limited selection of food but very good and you can try the wine made from the local grapes.
The Jewish Quarter sights are open on Friday morning, probably closing around 12-1 pm. They only reopen on Sunday morning, so Sunday is usually more crowded than other days. If you can get an early start on Friday, that might be a good thing to do. Otherwise, bite the bullet and go with the Sunday crowd before the tour. Consider a day trip to Terezin by bus. Allow a full day.
Thank you! We appreciate ALL ideas!!!
