We would like your help in the best way to get from Milan to Prague.

We would also like your insights in travel from Prague to Berlin via train this September. Can you recommend a great scenic train itinerary?

The best way to get from Milan to Prague is to fly on EasyJet for about $50 one way.

From Berlin to Prague, take a train that goes through Dresden. Do yourself a big favor and spend a couple of days in Dresden--a most beautiful and classy city. The Saxony region of Germany outside of Dresden is incredibly beautiful with the Elbe River running through the mountains.

Thanks for your advice. We've never flown Easy Jet. As 2 seniors who will be traveling with 4 bags, can we manage Easy Jet?

The train route from Prague to Dresden through Devin and Usti nad Labem is beautiful as it follows the course of the Elbe River through mountain valleys and past castles. The area on the Czech side would be. great for a couple nights in the summer. Dresden is a must for a stopover to see the Green Vault collection at Dresden Castle in the (reconstructed) Old Town.

EasyJet charges for each bag plus seat reservations, but other than that, nothing particularly challenging about flying with them.

If you buy your Prague>>Berlin ticket on the German rail site, it is possible to have a free stopover in Dresden. Try for 6 hours and store your luggage in a locker (need euro coins) at the station.

Note that this train is a Czech/Hungarian production and not as slick as the usual German rail system. AFAIK it is not possible to take a German train on this route.

I took the train from Prague to Berlin then about a week later Berlin back to Prague back in May of 2018. I found the ride quite enjoyable and relaxing. The train was quite roomy. The ride was smooth. I didn’t note whether or not it was scenic but it was quite adventurous.
