I am looking for information about the night train from Zurich to Prague. It no longer goes through Germany but through Austria. I can get some time schedules but have found no information about sleeping and fares. Any help would be appreciated. We don't want to wait to book our ticket because we are arriving in Zurich and leaving the next day for Prague the next day.

I randomly checked for April 13 and found that all the standard seats are gone (hard to believe...).
The following are prices for a single non-refundable/nonchangeable ticket. Flexible tickets (fee to change or refund) are about CHF 34 more.

I can see it at Ceske Drahy, the Czech National Railway. Random date (March 20) shows 2946 CZK ($142 US) for 2 in a deluxe sleeping compartment.

Not surprising that those seats were sold out for April 13. I would be much less surprised if the night train route Zurich to Prague were sold out in the general seating area in the summer. Night trains in the summer do sell out, especially on a week-end in the summer. Lots of people take them, look at them (all locals) on the platform waiting as you are.
I encountered that once a few years back when I wanted a seat in the general seating, (Großraumwagen), no sleeper or couchette, going on the EN from Hamburg to Vienna direct...sold out I was told in Hamburg Hbf. . There was then the CNL from Hamburg to Munich. I got a seat there, after breakfast in Munich, changed to Vienna.
