Will be needing transportation in a few weeks from Regensburg to Prague. Getting off River Cruise and looking for suggestions on bus, train or shared van options to hotel in Prague.
The best seems to go by train to Nuremberg and from there by Deutsche Bahn run bus to Prague. All of it takes 5 hours. There are several of these options during a day. Also all can be done by train with one or two changes. See details and schedule on Deutsche Bahn website.
Direct train at 10:31. Takes 4 hours 10 minutes. Cost about 50 EUR.
Indeed Sam is right. I must have overlooked that option. That's the best.
Book your tickets for the direct train from Regensburg to Prague through Czech railways eshop and tickets can be as cheap as 15 € per person.

There is an ALX train leaving Regensburg at 10:31 and going directly (no change) to Prague. At the border it becomes a Czech EX train. For 31,60€ (for 2 P) you can purchase a Bayern-Böhmen-Ticket. It is like a Bayern-Ticket but is valid all the way to Pilsen. At Pilsen you should be able to buy ticket for the rest of the way from the conductor (I saw people doing it, but you might need Koruna). The fare should be 120 Kc, about 4,44€, less than $5 each.
There are a couple of later direct ALX trains, but they run from Fürth to Prague as ECs, and I don't think the Bayern-Böhmen-Ticket is valid on these trains. However, you can use a Bayern-Ticket (28€ for 2) to Fürth. A check rail ticket from Fürth to Prague is less than 15€ (in Koruna).
