Prebook tickets during Christmas Season?

Hi there,
My friend and I are going to stay in Prague from Dec 23-25 and we plan to see a Christmas concert and a ballet while we are there.
Is it recommended to pre-book tickets in advance or is it possible to secure better deals once we are there?

Thank you,
Angel

The only way you might save a little money is to buy from the box office after you arrive, but I always book concert tickets ahead of the trip on line, normally using the bohemiatickets.com site. I'll be in Prague right after Thanksgiving, and I already have tickets for two operas. I doubt that you'd have much luck getting tickets to Christmas performances at the last minute, but I guess anything is possible. You can go to the ticket office under the Tyn Church to find out what's available.

I would book in advance, prices are very reasonable in Prague for such concerts

Better to pre-book and remember some venues are "first-come first served" for seating whereas others have a fixed seating plan. Important to know to avoid being seated apart. I've personally never known a deal to be made on the street in front of the venue. Sometimes you can pick up returns at the ticket office of the bigger venues like the National Theatre but they also go through the ticket sellers like Via Musica (the one mentioned at the Tyn Church).
