Prague Walker vs Personal Prague Guide for TEREZIN

Hi,
Has anyone used either Prague Walker or Personal Prague Guide to do a tour of Terezin? Trying to determine which company to proceed with.
Thank you

It depends on how much you expect from such a visit. A quick overview using a bus or van? In this case, it doesn't matter who you are traveling with. All guides are jumping from company to company taking tours from those who call first. It is funny when you find out (it happened to us several times) that one big company has other 5 small companies using the same seasonal guides. Until you can find the real and full name of a guide you will travel with and see his or her web page with documented research and many years of experience in presentations, you are traveling with a seasonal guide! Some of them try to go independent and in this case, they are nicer or more client-oriented, still, they are guides not educators. Does anybody want an educator in Prague during vacation time? I don't think so :) in this case, Personal Prague Guide has enthusiastic and passionate guides which will make you laugh and feel relaxed. Is that what you expect in a former concentration camp and the former very unique Ghetto?
There is a group of professional lecturers focusing on Terezin's research, presentations, and the Jewish history of Prague called "Terezin Private Tours". I support this group very much; if you want an unforgettable educational experience, I wouldn't hesitate to contact them. There are approx 50 small or large travel companies offering Terezin tours. It is one of many sites possible to visit in the Czech Republic so everybody offers a Terezin visit. :) But only a few can educate.

Based upon other posters, we have signed up for a one-half day, semi-private tour of Terezin with Pavel Batel. Since we haven't gone yet, I cannot evaluate the tour; but, given all the great reviews, we are anticipating a very insightful and educational afternoon.

Just a follow-up to my previous post. We recently returned from our trip and thoroughly appreciated Pavel Batel's guided tour of Terezin. The facility is about 45 minutes from Prague. Pavel used the time to give us a good background of the camp and helped contextualize what we were going to experience. At the various locations of Terezin, Pavel described what had occurred and then provided first-person accounts from his extensive research that underscored and clarified those events. The overall experience was extremely informative but also intense as he brought to life the events that are usually only glossed over in history books. I wholeheartedly recommend his tours; but, I caution participants that this is an emotional and thought-provoking experience.

I'd like to add another highly favorable review of the Terezin Ghetto Semi-Private Tour with Pavel Batel. This was no ordinary sightseeing tour. Pavel is a Holocaust historian, author, and scholar who captured our attention from the moment we got into his van and held it all afternoon. Historical tours can be dry - not this one! Pavel brought this deeply troubling history to life with personal stories gleaned from his many interviews with survivors of the Holocaust in general and the Terezin Ghetto in particular. His knowledge and passion for the subject were obvious and made the tour an educational and deeply moving experience.
