Prague Tram #22

My understanding is that this tram is a hop on hop off for major sites, however, what kind of ticket would one buy if they planned on seeing many of the sites. Tickets for 90 minutes wouldn't work. Would I have to do a full day ticket? Also, has anyone used this way of seeing the sights and any recommendations? I have RS book but don't think time would allow us to get off all the stops as we would only have about 5 hours. We are doing this trip in Sept. as part of a river cruise. Thank you.

If you're only there for 5 hours you could just buy 90 min tickets - 2 might be enough, but even 3 would cost you less than the 24 hour pass. One 90 min ticket might get you through a couple of sightseeing stops, then buy another one when you're done with those stops and that might take you close enough to the end of your time. With 5 hours in Prague I'm not sure I'd even mess with the tram except to go up to the castle, the rest (the Charles Bridge and Stare Mesto (old town)) are easily walkable.

I know Rick talks about tram 22 as though it were a sightseeing route, but it really isn't. It does connect various places of interest, but you won't see much from the tram. So, I'd instead plan to just focus on walking around the center, taking a tram only if needed to get to a specific location.

We did the hop-on hop-off tour system. I usually don't like them but in this case we saw a lot of Prague we would never have seen on foot. It included a boat trip which was very nice. Check it out. It isn't cheap but we did get to see Prague. On another day we just walked all over and saw the the highlights.
