Prague to Munich

I have been reading best way to travel from Prague to Munch, It looks like there is a Bus that is a little faster than then the train. I looked on the BAHN web site. I can see the schedules, I don't see how to purchase. I am a rookie with European travel. Not sure what I am doing wrong.. There is also a bus operated by Eurolines. Not sure which is the better option. Thanks for any suggestions.

Use this website. The link above will get you here eventually; might as well start here.

You cannot purchase those bus ticket more than 92 days in advance. What date were you looking for?

If you have entered a date within the 92 day range, you will see boxes marked "Purchase" for each TOD and ticket type.

I took the Deutsche Bahn bus from Munich to Prague last week and purchased my ticket through the bahn.de site about six week ago. After I made my purchase I printed out my ticket and brought it with me to Germany. Be sure to bring the credit card you make the purchase with because they scan it when you give them your ticket.

I usually opt for trains over buses but I was pleasantly surprised by the DB bus to Prague. It was only half full so everyone could spread out, there's a decent toilet, a drink machine, and even wifi. The ride was smooth, the bus was clean. Waaaaaay better than any bus I've taken in the US. Tip: if the bus has two levels, the top level is quieter, but the bottom level is closer to the toilet and drink machine, and has two sets of four seats facing each other.

I probably wouldn't do a long overnight bus but a Munich-Prague type of trip was just fine.

I've taken that same bus, and echo what others have said. It is very pleasant, certainly equal in comfort to the train.

Hello. I plan on taking a bus from Nuremburg to Prague this December. Are the buses nice on this route too?

Yes it is the same company that runs them. I have a friend that travels this route 2 or 3 times a year.

Thanks Unclegus. How was the trip this time around? Did you do a trip report here or at TA?
