Is it possible to rent a car in Prague and drop it off in Berlin? At the end of August, we will be flying into Prague, where we have a 3-day business meeting. We wish to rent a car in Prague, then travel to Trebon and Cesky Krumlov in the Czech Republic, and on to Regensburg, Dresden, Potsdam and Berlin in Germany. Is Regensburg worth the extra day? We are thinking that it will probably be cheapest and easiest to leave the car when we arrive in Berlin and take a train back to Prague for our return trip to the States. Any thoughts on this or our itinerary would be appreciated. We have visited Munich in the past, but we have never traveled in eastern Germany.
Carol, Yes, but expect a big surcharge for dropping off the car in a different country to where you rented it. Get a quote before deciding.
You may have a difficult choice between extra cost for the foreign drop-off (€200-€500 - pure guess), or to drive back to Prague.
It is possible. You need to check with your rental agency. Drop off fee in different country is usually very high.
