Prague Neighborhood: Smichov/Hiavni mesto?

We are considering an AirBB apartment in this neighborhood. Strong reviews; on tram line; close to Smichovske nadrazi subway station. We plan to take advantage of included parking for rental car, so will be using public transport for site-seeing.

Experience and/or comments on the neighborhood?

Fine area but not only is there a metro station, there is also a main railway station as well local trams so getting anywhere in the city is easy enough. There is also a bus station at Na Kniczec just a tram stop away. Loads of bars restaurants and cafes in the area the majority of which are closer to Andel 1 metro stop away or a 5 minute walk ,also a huge shopping mall there. I have stayed in the area in the past right beside the Staropramen Brewery which is a reasonable visitor attraction, their brewery bar Potrefena Husa Na verandach is pretty good. but really you will be spoilt for choice in the area.

Unclegus already gave you plenty of information. I will add few points to avoid confusion. Smichov is the neighborhood. Hiavni mesto
should be spelled Hlavni mesto - it means capital (literary main town). Main train station in Prague is just one called Praha hlavni nadrazi. Smichov train station is relatively big - called nadrazi Praha - Smichov. Bus station Na Knizeci is important because almost all buses to Cesky Krumlov (and many other buses) leave from there, not from Central bus station Praha Florenc. I think you will be satisfied there.
