Prague, Munich or Vienna Recommendations

Arriving in Prague 4/27 and returning to Florida 5/3 thru Paris arriving 5/4 (overnight stay in Paris). My fiancé is suggesting we stay in Prague until Sunday and leave for either Munich or Vienna for a couple of days then return to Prague on 5/3 for an afternoon flight.

A couple of questions and would like some suggestions. My vote is to stay in Prague the entire time. If I suggest this I would like to know of some day trips with Prague as home base. Or, is there a 2 or 3 day river cruise roundtrip from Prague anyone would suggest. This would allow us to split our time between Prague and a city or two on the river.

My problem with either Munich or Vienna is a 5-6 hour train/bus ride. Roundtrip flights to Munich and back to Prague are expensive, but shorter in duration. Plus, we would spend a of time carting around luggage!

Thanks

Prague to Vienna is four hours with the train. But why not discover some other cities in the Czech Republic, such as Hradec Kralove (1,5 hrs from Prague) or Olomouc (2 hrs)? Nice and interesting cities and a welcome change after the busy capital.

If you can, do Cesky Krumlov overnight. Really close to Prague (1 hour or less) are Kutna Hora - historical, former silver mining town and Melnik - wine town. Or you can visit Plzen (Pilsen), the birthplace of famous beer and you can take a tour of the brewery. Little farther is Brno - the second largest city and Olomouc. Vienna is 4 hours by train from Prague, 8 hours roundtrip - too far for a meaningful day trip. Munich 5 hours. You got only 6 days. I think it is wise not to add Munich or Vienna for a such short stay. Next time.
