Hello all, I have trip planned that starts in Berlin for New Years and the to Prague for ~1 week after. I was seeing if anyone has experience or advice with side tripping during this time...or should I stick to the city proper as many things might be closed. Thanks guys!!!

Hi alexz. Depends on your interests.
We were in Prague at that exact time last year and had no issues with visiting not only a ton of stuff around the city but also sites around CR between Dec 30 and Jan 7 by bus, car and rail. During that time we visited Terezin, Kutna Hora (Bone Church, Our Lady at Sedlec, St Barbara's Church), Karlovy Vary (Becherovka tour, Moser glass factory), Ceske Budjeovic (Budvar brewery). Determine what you want to see and check opening hours on their website.
