Prague Concerts Choice

Hello:

We may try and do both of these but if we can only do one should we go to

Dvorak - Symphony No. 9 "From the New World", 60 musicians on stage
Municipal House (Obecní dům), Smetana hall
or
Classic Spectacular in Mirror Chapel
Klementinum, Mirror Chapel

Thank you!

That is very much a matter of personal opinion. But my opinion is that I love Dvořák's 9th symphony, especially the 2nd movement is amazing. And if you're an American visiting Prague it's certainly very suitable. So that would be my choice. But it might not be your choice.

But what does Classic Spectacular include?

Thank you! I'm not a fan of that kind of "greatest hits" concerts, so it's an easy choice in my opinion. But your opinion might be different.

Dvorak’s New World is one of my lifelong favorites, so that gets my vote. Perhaps listen to all of the music and then see what grabs that you would like to see performed live?

I prefer the selection. I suspect that the orchestra is a tad bit better (sort of a guess), I prefer the venue. I prefer the duration. I detest the open seating by catagory and "casual dress". Just me. So put on your cargo shorts and flip flops and have a blast.

Thank you everyone. We have decided to attend both. Even though they both say casual attire, we will certainly dress better than that.

I hope you don't mind if I hijack your post because I am also planning on attending the Dvorak performance!

I am very confused when I look at what I believe to be an official ticket vendor for the show: https://www.pragueticketoffice.com/event/1116929-advorak-%E2%80%93-symphony-%E2%80%9Efrom-the-new-world%E2%80%9C-north-czech-philharmonic/2025-08-16-20-00

It shows that there are 94 ticket available, basically as completely available rows (for example, the first 8 rows are unavailable, then every seat in the 9th row is available, then several rows of unavailable seats, then a full row available and so on). The unavailable seats are listed as unavailable, not as sold. This would be a rather weird scenario of sold/available seats anyway.

Should I have any concerns purchasing from this site? Is there somewhere else I should purchase from? Is there something wrong with the seats in these rows?
