Prague, Cesky Krumlov, Budapest I5inerary Questions

Hi all,

We have 8 days to explore Prague, Budapest, etc. Considering the following:
3 nights in Prague, then driver to Cesky Krumlov
2 nights in Cesky Krumlov, then driver to Budapest
3 nights in Budapest
Thoughts? Should we drop a night in CK and add to either Prague or Budapest? Detour to Vienna?

The 2 nights in CK depends on your arrival/departure time. We stayed 2 nights, but we arrived late evening and left early morning. The first night we just had dinner and walked around town. The next full day we did a walking tour, toured the castle, went to a museum, and a Church.

If you are arriving early in the morning and leaving in the late afternoon the next day it should be sufficient. It is a lovely town and was a nice rest for us to stay the 2 nights. we did doing a similar trip with with Vienna, but we had 15 nights. I wouldn't add Vienna this trip, you don't have enough time.

We stayed at the Castle View Apartments recommended by Rick and it was the best location and a nice B&B.

We spent 5 nights in Prague and could have happily stayed longer. One of our days in Prague was spent on a day trip to Terezin. Did not visit Budapest, so I can't speak to that. We were not enamored with Cesky Krumlov. It's a pretty little village, but unless you want to shop in a myriad of souvenir shops, you can explore it in a few hours. I wouldn't add Vienna to this trip, and would opt to spend the extra nights in Prague or Budapest. Perhaps do 4 nights in each.

We have a very similar itinerary except 1 night in Cesky Krumlov and 6 nights in Budapest. I would love to have another night in CK but I added a night to Budapest because I was struggling to fit in what we wanted to see. Are you sure you can visit everything you wish in 3 nights in Budapest???
