Prague and Budapest

We just returned from Budapest, and it is an amazing city with lots to see and do. Budapest is much larger than Prague and all the interesting sites are spread out so it takes longer to see and do things. I am sure you will want to spend time on the Pest side and on the Buda side. Honestly, I think you need 5 nights just to see Budapest. That is how many nights we spent in Budapest. I was planning on a day trip to Szentendre but we didn't have time for that.

We have been to Prague twice, and we love Prague, too. With 5 nights total, I would spend 2 nights in Prague and 3 nights in Budapest. However, you will be shortchanging both cities. Would you consider spending all 5 nights in Budapest? If this is your only chance to see both cities, then split it up the way I suggest: 2 nights Prague and 3 nights Budapest.

kmkwoo stole my thunder. Any chance you are willing to do 5 nights in one or the other? I leave in 3 days for an 8-night stay in Prague. I have a packed itinerary, and there are still things I'm going to miss. Budapest, as noted above, can easily fill 5 nights, too. If you must see both, I will defer to others who have been to both (this is my first trip to Prague; went to Bupadest around 2017.

Im sorry, for this one random advice isn't very good. With arrival flight and departure flight .... or at least tge actual dates...maybe I could give you something useful. Tge general concept isn't great but I am reminded that my fist trip here 20+ years ago wasn't much different.
