Prague airport vs. train

I am considering hopping a flight from Prague to Warsaw rather than taking train, as itinerary already has two days dominated by rail travel, and am curious if anyone can advise on how long it takes to go from central Prague (sadly, we won't have more than a few hours to poke around and are arriving by train from Berchtesgaden). Also, how is the time/hassle of getting on a flight. The train journey from Prague to Warsaw is 7-8 hours, so.... it would be nicer to look at the countryside and have some space to read/journal if the airport experience is anything like in US.

Thank you,

The Prague airport experience is nothing like the experience of an US airport. Prague airport is pretty easy going. It takes about 45 minutes to get to the airport from Prague city centre, using public transport. As it is an internal EU flight, you only need to be at the airport an hour before departure. Security is minimal and there are no passport or customs checks.

If you can get a cheap airfare my advice is to take it, it makes more sense than taking the train.

I agree with Marcus, but I have to ask why so little time in Prague?
You could do an overnight train from Prague to Warsaw that would give you a bit more time in the city.

Why even bother with Prague? I would just fly from Munich to Warsaw and makes things easier on yourself.

I flew from Warsaw to Prague on my trip last year, about $120 on LOT and a good experience overall, it's a short flight and I was out exploring Prague by 1 pm. If a train trip is over 5 hours usually easier (sometimes cheaper) to just take a flight, extra airport dealings notwithstanding.

Thank you for responses. I think we have concluded that flying from Munich is best plan. I'll report on that airport after flight. We only have two weeks in Europe altogether, so I was trying to squeeze in a glimpse and a beer in Prague, which I've yearned to visit, but good to have a goal for future journeys. Our daughter is au pairing in Warsaw, so we decided that three full days there trumps a drive-by in Prague, (we are meeting her in Paris for the first week of the trip, at her request). So, I guess I agree on "why so little time in Prague" and will leave that alluring and well reviewed city in the "travel goals" category, for now.
