Travelling to Prague this weekend, staying at the Le Palais Art Hotel, and wondered about Uber versus public train (Václav Havel Airport Prague to Le Palais Art Hotel Prague) for someone with mobility issues. Specifically, my partner has a ruptured tendon (one month ago) and now needs a leg brace that makes stairs and obstacles difficult. Walking a mile or so seems fine. Any thoughts on how easy this would be on the train? I know the public transport is highly recommended, but not sure it's the best option for us. We might just Uber. Thanks in advance! -mike
The Le Palais Art Hotel is a bit uphill from the nearest tram stops, so even after taking public transport, there could be a tough walk at the end. Worth considering if deciding between train and Uber.
Last month, I used Prague Transport to get from the airport to my hotel.
It was great. The communication with the firm was excellent. My driver texted me earlier in the day to let me know who he was. He followed the flight and met me as I exited baggage claim. His English was so good and without an accent I thought he was an American but found out he was Czech. There was even a bottle of water for me.
I arrived around rush hour and the traffic was terrible. But my driver knew the city and took back streets to avoid the traffic. No need for GPS like many Uber drivers.
You can pay in Krona, Euros, or Dollars. Cash only. Fixed amount you know ahead of time. I paid 33 Euros. (It's $35 if you want to pay in US dollars.)
Worth every penny.
I second Frank II, we used them as well, we missed our original flight, the second flight was late and on top of it they lost our bags yet the driver was waiting for us where they said they would be, he had a nice car, spoke perfect English and gave a lot of info about the city on the ride in. We actually paid by VISA in advance, I think it might be a new option, well worth it.
