We're planning on spending 3 days in Prague with our family of 9- my 80 year old Mom and my siblings. I wondered about the must do things in Prague and how to get around with a little less walking. Also, I thought I had read somewhere that the funicular was closed- but I can't find that information again. Can someone help us soon to be travelers?
We're planning our first trip to Prague & my husband also has difficulty walking long distances.
It seems that the "EcoExpress" may be a good option. It's a little train whose hour long route passes most of the sightseeing highlights. Reviews say that it's slow enough to really see the sight & take pictures while listening to the commentary which is available in Czech, English, German. Hope this helps.
The fenicular is closed from the 7th September till mid March due to major repair work.
Prague has a very good public transport system but the majority of the tourist sights are in pedestriansed areas but still worth using the trams and metro to get around. The 80 y.o will get free use of trams and metros on production of their passport.

Rather than a checklist of museums, Prague is a fine place to wander
around and just take in the fun atmosphere. Plan some worthwhile
activities — take a self-guided tram tour, hire a local guide, enjoy a
concert, or go for a scenic paddle on the river.
Something that I truly enjoyed and doesn't require much walking and the whole family can enjoy is a food tour of Prague. I joined Eating Prague Tours when I first visited Prague and really enjoyed the tour guide and selection of food was able to try.
