I was able to buy tickets for me and my husband to the Oberammergau Passion play for October 3, 2020 showing. We are planning to fly to Munich and then go to Oberammergau and then Eastern Europe. We want to see Prague, Budapest, and Vienna. After watching the Passion play we have two more weeks of vacation time. Can somebody please suggest an itinerary for us, including day trips? Since we are going to Oberammergau first, is it reasonable to get round trip flight from New York to Munich? I notice that round trip to Munich is cheaper than one-way. Our age range is 55-60 and please be aware that we have been to Munich, Oberammergau, Salzburg, and Szczecin, Poland before. We will also be taking public transportation during the entire trip. Don't look at 1-way flights, look at multi-city flights, NYC to Munich, then Budapest to NYC.
So then it would be Oberammergau to Prague via Munich, then Prague to Vienna, then Vienna to Budapest, all by train.
It will be a couple months before flight schedules for your dates will be out. Right now, similar dates in April (4/7/2020 to 4/22/2020) on Lufthansa show $561 per person. Nonstop EWR to MUC, then BUD to EWR with a plane change at MUC.
