We will be travelling via train from Dresden to Prague end of November. For 1 week
Any suggestions to stay in Prague..within walking distance from train station and close to city centre..old town..we do like apartments as we can make our own breakfast and more room as we will be there for a week

I have used this company a couple of times for accommodation in the city though not for a few years now, Booking.com are pretty good for apartments too.
Lorraine, a few years ago I spent a very nice 4 nights at the Green Garland B & B, on a relatively quiet street just a couple blocks from the old town square and also from the Charles Bridge. Nice inn, excellent room, fine breakfast, wonderful location, and affordable prices. However, it is a B & B not an apartment, and I remember I took a taxi to the train station. Certainly a great and lively city, Prague.
We had a good experience at Pushkin Apartments in 2016. We rented three on the same floor. Economical but great location.
I stayed in the Pushkin Apartments quite a few years ago and they were OK but for a first time visitor they are ideally located.
We stayed at Hotel Josef in July and really enjoyed it. The room we stayed in was very spacious and had a nice view of the neighborhood. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Their breakfast choices are plentiful and very delicious! The hotel is close to everything. I recommend Hotel Josef!
Larry - so glad to hear your assessment of your B&B. I just booked them for May 2018 for after our GAS tour!!
I also stayed at Pushkin Apts (2014) and was very happy with them. Very close to old town. I don't think you can be a short walk to the train station and be a couple of blocks to center of old town. Easy to take a taxi from station to wherever you stay in old town.
Thanks everyone for your great response..I have booked Hotel Pushkin and excited so glad a few responses of people staying there..thanks again...happy travels
