The guys love the beer so it’s planned for a night.

Not quite understanding what is meant by that. Do you want an evening "day" trip?

Prague is about 1 1/2 hours away. Marianske Lazne, a famous spa town, formerly known as Marienbad, is about 1 hour away.

I wasn’t sure if there was much to do in Pilsen. We are debating on 1 or 2 nights then on to Prague.
I thought 2 if there were some cool day trips from Pilsen. It’s a new area for us.

yes a bit more info, what lenth of trip are you on, when you say guys, how many of you, Have you planned on doing the Pilsner Urquell tour in Plzen. Lots of other places to drink beer in the city as well as a few micro breweries in and around the city.I have nearly 30 years experience of travel in the czech Republic most of which is based round beer tourism, so more info and i can try and help. Also look at some of my contributions on this forum , some great info on beer tourism.

We visited Plzen as a day trip from Prague, which is easy to do on the train if you prefer to spend more nights in the same place.

good suggestion by catVH, the train takes approx 90 minutes sometimes a bit longer de[ending on the train and there is a train at least every hour, the Pilsner Urquell brewery is less than a 10 minute from the train station

Between Pilsen and Prague there is a neat little crystal factor in Nizbor--Rückl Crystal. We've been twice. The first time we got a tour of the crystal making process from an English-speaking guide. We've also purchased crystal there for less than you will find in Prague, if that's an interest. We have both driven and taken the train to get to Nizbor.

My husband's great-great grandfather emigrated from near there. One of the women on staff lit up in a great big smile when it was translated for her and she said her husband was from the same town.

Our trip is 10 days. We are a family of 5. We are visiting Prague, Olomouc, CK, Pilsen then back to Prague .
