Uncle Gus - that’s a shame. You’ve given me some good tips over the years.

had a minor heart attack about a month ago, had a small stent put in and am on blood thinners till January which means I have to stay off the alcohol till then. I was hoping to get to Prague the end of September but have delayed my visit till i can enjoy a few beers

Sorry to hear that. I hope all goes well. I’ve a couple of friends who’ve had stents and felt really rejuvenated so fingers crossed. Since I turned 70 I find myself thinking more and more of the Woody Allen line: ‘I hated getting old until I considered the alternative,’

I’ve an old friend in Prague and was a regular visitor before Covid. I’m there for a week at the end of August and staying in Andel. Looking forward to revisiting Beertime and Andelsky Pivovar both of which you recommended to me in years gone by.

I am doing great, feeling so much better than I have in years. Andel is a great area to be based in lots of great places to sink a few, if you feel like a short trip out of the city visit Pivovar Revnice. https://www.pivovar-revnice.cz/ about 30 minutes on the train from Hlavni , some excellent beers and superb food, brilliant staff and a lovely little outdoor area to sit in if the weather is nice. It is what used to be the old train station sympathetically converted into a micro brewery and bar and about 200 yards walk from the present train station
