New interesting places to drink beer in Prague?

Before Covid I was a regular visitor to Prague and I’m now planning my first trip back for five years. I’m wondering if there are any newish places to drink beer - microbreweries, pubs with interesting selections whatever.

I’m staying in Andel and five years ago UncleGus, who I think is still posting here, recommended Beertime and the Andelsky both of which I really liked. So, anywhere more recent I should be checking out, either in Andel or the city generally?

Suggestions for nice places to eat also welcome.

Many thanks
Alan

Have you visited the beer garden at the Staropramen brewery? When we were last in Prague we had excellent food and several craft brews that the brewmaster was trying out. And I'm sure the Strahof monastery has been on your previous itineraries.

We'll be in Prague in late August, so if your trip is later maybe I can get you some more ideas.

have you been to Cobolis https://cobolis.cz/, right at Ladvi metro stop, one of my favourite places these days but it can get busy.
another favourite place but a bit of a hike is Prokopak https://www.pivovar-prokopak.cz/ if you click on the contact list you will get instructions how to get there.
Pivovarsky Dum and Pivovarsky Klub have been taken over and rebranded and are now call Pivovarsky Dum Benedict and Pivovarsky Klub Benedict. Have been in both places in the last few months and will be in the again before the end of the month, they are excellent though the food is excellent the choice on the menu fairly limited.Beer is superb.
if you want a little train trip head to Revnice ,about 30 minutes from the main train and there are several trains an hour.Pivovar Revnice is about 200 yards from the train station and was previously the actual station house beautifully restored and now a micro brewery doing great food and superb beer .https://www.pivovar-revnice.cz/ ,another place I will be in next Sunday.

We just returned from Prague and though we did not partake, we saw brochures advertising their Beer Spa. The pics showed what looked to be wooden tubs with bubbling, and I suppose, hot water like in a spa situation. The tubs seemed lined up and showed a man in one and a woman in another holding large beer mugs. They were wearing swim suits (thank goodness). Since you say you used to be a regular visitor to Prague, you might already be aware of the Beer Spas. (do not know how long they have been around). My guess is that they are not so much
noted for great beer but more for the uniqueness of the situation in which you are drinking the beer.

I've never heard of beer spas in Prague.

My thinking is that brochures can advertise darn near anything. I saw lots of brochures in my brief stays in Copenhagen, none of which related to actual civilized behavior.

Beer spas are a bit of a misnomer in that it is not beer that you have a bath in but a selection of items used in brewing to help your skin, the more touristy ones will have beer taps and emphasis the beer drinking rather than the wellness effects of the baths themselves. They all will have separate rooms where a couple can indulge in the baths in a more private area.
https://www.pivovarmonopol.cz/en/wellness-2/beer-spa/ , this place in Teplice has been open a year or so ( brewery / restaurant much longer) and I visited last year and got a private tour of the facilities and the brewery ( a friend is the head brewer there). Beer spas are not my sort of thing but the Monopol Spa concentrate on a whole package of wellness items but also happen to have their own micro brewery that serves superb beer and food. The actual restaurant area is stunning, not sure what it was before a brewery/ restaurant but it is a stunning place to enjoy a meal and a few drinks and worth a couple of hours on the train just to visit this place, less than a 10 minute walk from the train station.

Thanks to everyone for the excellent suggestions. All duly noted and I’m sure I’ll manage most of them when I’m there.

Cheers

the stories I could tell of drunken escapades at the Strahov, getting a bit too touristy for me these days but a fine place that does some wonderful beers , food ain't to shabby either.

UncleGus, likewise. The friend I visit in Prague moved there over twenty years ago. He worked in the castle some of the time and our regular haunts were the Strahov and the Kocoura at the bottom of Nerudova. We tend to drop into both when I’m there for old times’ sake. The Kocoura, given its location, was remarkably unchanged when I was last there. I’m hoping that’s still true.

not been in U Kocoura for many years, not in that area a lot when in the city.Just wondering if you have ever been to Klasterini senk at the Brevnov monastery, a real favourite spot but sometimes difficult to get a table unless you book . Great beer brewered almost next door and some of the best food in the city.
