I would like to do a day trip to Karlstejn Castle on 7/17, do I need to buy tickets ahead of time or can we just hop on the train in Prague and arrive at the castle in the morning and buy tickets there?

Been a while since I did a tour but was in the castle courtyard last year. I think it might be best to book a tour if you are sure what time you are going to be there or if you are in a large grpoup . but you can get on a tour once you are there but may have to wait a bit. It is not an unpleasant place to wait for a while and there are a couple of cafes/bars nearby to spend your waiting time in.
It takes around 15 minutes to walk up the hill from the train station and there is sometimes a horse and cart that will take you up the hill for a fee,but they wait until they have a full cartload before they move off,i have heard folk waiting 45 minutes or more.
