Need advice on stopover

Hello,
We are a couple travelling to Prague on
21 Dec late afternoon, then on to Vienna and finally to Budapest. We are in a toss up on where to stopover from Prague to Vienna:

21 to 25 Dec - Prague (4.5 days)
26 to 27 Dec (2 days) - Undecided if we should head to Cesky Krumlov, Brno, Salzburg or just stay an additional day(s) in Prague or get into Vienna earlier. Where would we have most things to do during these post Christmas days?
28 to 31 Dec (4 days) - Get in to Vienna early
1 - 4 Jan (4 days) - Get in to Budapest early
5 Jan - Early afternoon flight home

Any tips would be much appreciated!!!

Many going to Prague will stopover at Cesky Krumlov. There are a number CK shuttle firms that can take you to Linz where you catch the train or take you on into Vienna.
Another option would to take a 39 mile bus after Vienna to Bratislava and catch the train into Budapest.
PM me if you need good places to stay in Vienna and Budapest.

Thanks for the tips David:) Any thoughts about Brno or Salzburg? Are they worthy considerations vs Cesky? I've heard differing views about Brno - some say its great, others note there's nothing much...:I

Lots to do in Prague. Well it's a little out of your way but at that time of year you should definitely consider Salzburg. Almost guaranteed snow and a wonderful Christmas market. Then Vienna.

Out of your choices Brno is the least touristy, logistically the easiest to get to. It is on the rail line Prague - Vienna approximately in the middle. On St.Stephen Day (Dec 26) there will be a lot of stuff happening there. Cesky Krumlov is a very picturesque and very touristy small town. Relatively easy to get there by public transport from Prague. Little bit more complicated to get from there to Vienna. I would consider shuttle to Linz and then by train. Salzburg is a pretty town, touristy, somewhat out of your way.

I vote for going to Brno, went there without reading comments pro/con on Brno..irrelevant.
