Munich to Czech/Austria via train.

Apologies if this has been asked before. I searched and couldn’t find an answer.

We’re currently in Munich and feel very comfortable booking/riding/transferring trains on the DB. We’d like to book a train to Prague/Pilsen for a couple days then head to Salzburg afterwards.
Looking on the DB Navigator app and I’m a bit confused on the destination station in Prague. I’m not seeing an “Prague Main” station. Also, is the DB the best app to buy a ticket to Prague prior to go going, and once there, buying a train ticket to Salzburg?
Thanks
Ben

Prague's main station is called Praha Hlavni Nadrazi (which means...main station), shortened to hl.n.

Munich to Prague takes a while by train, so have a look at buses as well.

Regarding who to buy tickets from: have a look at the "man in seat 61" website, a great resource for European train travel, it will give you such info. I doubt DB is able to sell a ticket from Prague to Salzburg since that route does not go through Germany at all.

Because train tickets for Czech trains on domestic Czech train routes and routes to/from neighboring countries have the most inexpensive fares only available on the Czech National Train website, you can find the least expensive fares there: www.cd.cz. The Munich Hbf to Praha hl.n. fare for 9/30 is $24 at cd.cz for a second class ticket. It will be less for those 65 and over. The Prague to Salzburg Hbf fare is only $28 with the quickest route taking 5:45 with a transfer in Linz, Austria. Last year I bought a ticket at www.cd.cz from Prague’s main station to Budapest and it was only $25. A senior ticket ran $15.
