More questions re cesky kromlov

I will spend 4 ngts in Prague early May/2015. I am staying with a friend for those 4 ngts & then she's flying out. I wanted to spend an extra ngt or 2 in Prague, but it's just too expensive for solo accom. I plan to go to CK for 1 ngt instead & then will head back to Prague to catch the overngt train to Budapest. My questions are-does anyone know of good, safe central accom in CK, for approx 35 Euro that is not a dorm hostel & 2nd, I know I can join up with the overnight train by going to Cesky Budjovice & then 3 more transfers. Has anyone done this & how confusing is it, especially @ 1:30am? Should I just make it easier on myself & go back to Prague? Thx to any & all who answer-most appreciated!

There are plenty of good, safe central accom. in CK, problem is I am not aware of any in your price range. Once you are not in the historical center price drops even lower than your range. My recommendation: google and check prices and location, check Rick Steves book (most recent edition) Prague & the Czech Republic, when you are in Prague, stop at travel agency and inquire.
There are too many options how to get from CK to Budapest. Check Deutsche Bahn website. If you want to go by overnight train, go back to Prague with one change of trains in Ceske Budejovice.

I stayed in Pension Sebastian: http://www.sebastianck.com/en/home At 790 CK for a single, I believe that translates to approximately 30 Euros. It's an easy 10 minute (or less) walk to the central square. Clean, comfortable, ensuite bathrooms and a simple breakfast provided

Gail, I'm staying this July in CK at the Pension Nika. It's a little outside the center but walking distance, good reviews and only €29.

Also, if you do want to stay in Prague, check out the Apartments Pushkin - good reviews on booking.com and Trip Advisor. I'm staying in a studio apt there this July for €32/night (may be less in May), close to old town.

I also travel as a single so know it can be difficult to find affordable accommodations.
