Monogram independent tours

Hello - Does anyone have any experience with Monogram? My husband and I are fairly confident travellers, but having never been to Prague or Vienna and not being sure of areas/travel/etc, we are considering Monogram. We don't particularly care for large escorted tours, but this seems to assist primarily with lodgings and travel, while still letting us explore the areas on our own.

Pros? Cons? Much appreciate any information.

I don't have any personal experience with Monogram. I just googled it. Based on what I read I would not use it. There are plenty of similar travel agencies and companies to take care of your money. Being fairly confident travelers you can handle it yourself much cheaper. Arm yourself with Rick Steves books: Prague and the Czech Republic, and Vienna then browse this Travel Helpline. You can find a lot of useful information and websites there. If you want to go only to Prague and Vienna, book your airline tickets open jaw. Don't bother with booking train tickets. Buy them when you get there. You don't really need 1st class unless you want to pay 50% more. Second class is perfectly OK. Train takes about 4 hours. Schedule is on Deutsche Bahn website. Book your hotels in the cities center so you don't have to commute to sightsee. We can help you more if you let us know what your interests are, when you want to go and for how long.
