looking for helping deciding Prague or Vienna for Christmas and/or New Years?

Hi Everyone,
we have decided to travel to Prague, Munich & Vienna over Christmas/ New Years, total of 12 days. We are planning about 3 days in each city but trying to decide which city is best for Christmas and which would be better for New Years. I know Vienna seems a little more reserved but I think there are still a lot of activities that don't require dressing up, etc. Also I heard Prague has a lot of things that are open like the palace on Christmas Day. I hope for some suggestions if anyone has done either holiday in either city :)
Thank you for any help you can offer :)

Hi, we decided after looking at the dates for markets to move our trip back so we are leaving December 10 and flying home on December 24th, we are spending 7 days in Prague including a day trip to Dresden and Kunta Hora, then heading down to Chesky Krumlov for 2 nights then onto the last 5 days in Vienna including a day trip to Bratislava :)
I only have accommodations in Vienna left to book so if anyone has suggestions I've looked at many places and trying to stay in district 1 or 2 close to the opera house which everyone says is good for moving around :)

Good luck with your trip and please reach out if you have any questions :)

My wife and I loved the Ritz-Carlton Vienna which is a great location on the Ring. That chain is normally more expensive than I am willing to pay for a hotel but we got a surprisingly good rate there booking on their website, for a place of that quality.

Hi, thank you so much for the recommendation, I will check on this today, I have a feeling it's going to be out of our price range but it doesn't hurt to look :)
