Limited Time In Czech Republic

Hi. I don't often get to go to Europe so when I do I like to fit in as much as I can. My daughter and I are going to Amsterdam, Munich and Annecy France. I have been to Hungary (which I loved) but want to see Prague. I know its a long ride from there to the other places we want to see. So my question is with 3 days only, can we see most of Prague and, is it worth it? We are going next June and are just in the planning stages now. Love Rick Steves and his followers advice! Thank you!

If your 3 days are in Prague and don’t include travel to and from one of your other destinations, then yes. Three full days would be a nice amount of time for Prague. But three days that include travel to Prague on Day 1 and travel to somewhere else on Day 3 is a different matter.

I am in Prague now for the 2nd time in 20 years.
You need 3 full days and the first day you arrive should be around noon and I would only arrive having adjusted from the first days of jet lag. I came here on the fly, last minute after 3 days in Vienna and a day in Budapest because it rained in Vienna and more was forecasted for both Budapest and Vienna and none in Prague.
In your case I would skip Munich for Prague. Prague is a place I can now see myself coming to over an over again because of it's architectural beauty, music scene (all genres) and cafe restaurants.

Thank you both for the advice. I will make sure we spend a full 3 days in Prague!

Hello,
I am planning a trip next May for Prague, Plzen and Salzburg then moving on Munich, Nuremberg, Bamberg, Cologne, Brussels (Belgium) Dusseldorf (mile long bar only, Hamberg is this worth visiting, Berlin (wall, where my family is from) and back to flying out of Prague. Can you recommend how many days and night for each city?
We are exploring the breweries. I am also interested in castles and food. I am open to any suggestions, and we will be traveling for 16 days. What would be good day trips and cities to stay overnight. We will be using the train. Thank you in advance.

@taraindgo: My advice is to rethink your itinerary. IMO this is way too ambitious for a 16 day trip. You are going to spend the vast majority of your vacation on a train and checking in and out of hotels. There will be no time for day trips. Think about prioritizing what cities you want to see the most.
